The National Health Insurance office of Pru East District has held its 2021 review meeting at Yeji. The meeting was attended by some stakeholders like healthcare providers, teachers, clerics, and heads of institutions and leaders associations.

The National Health Insurance office of Pru East District has held its 2021 review meeting at Yeji. The meeting was attended by some stakeholders like healthcare providers, teachers, clerics, and heads of institutions and leaders associations.

The District manager Mr. Ahmed Tamimu in his presentation stated that A target of 110,085 was given to register 2021 and were able to register 102,679 (93.27%) representing (60.07%) of the district population.

A target of 38,440 mobile renewal given, the office registered 41,158 (107%) LEAP/Indigents enrollment in 2021 exceeded the target 9,664. The premium for 2021 is ₵ 371,510.00, the office got ₵ 363,273.00(97.78%) in that order. 


Mr. Ahmed said their achievement yields results due to some special strategic measures. Among these strategies include teamwork, collaborations with institutions, outreach programs, and the creation of registration points in some areas.

After accounting for the successful work of 2021, the Manager outlined the challenges that could've distracted them from the work but they were able to overcome it with the heart of determination.  Finally, Mr. Ahmed Tamimu outlined innovations of 2022 that will enable them to put more people on the scheme.

There will be Institutional engagement, assembly-member engagement, Communities engagement, Radio and Information service education to get people informed about NHIS. 


The operations manager of NHIA, Bono East Region, Mr. Alhassan Kwasi in attendance said the work of NHIS is a shared responsibility hence the need for the stakeholder's meeting.
