The Bono East Region led by the Regional Minister has held its first-quarter review of Governance for Inclusive Development (GovID).

According to the Bono East Regional Minister, Hon. K. Adu Gyan, the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led government has put a lot of measures in place such as digital addressing and the uniform identification systems to enable decentralization in our various districts and municipalities for revenue-generating for the assemblies. 

He revealed that 3 MDAs; Nkoranza South, Atebubu Amantin and Techiman South have already signed a partnership deal with GIZ by which GIZ provides support to the Nkoranza South, Atebubu Amantin and Techiman South Assemblies in the areas of Local Revenue Mobilization, Tax Education Planning and Budgeting, Gender Mainstreaming, Public Financing Management and Social Accountability among others.

According to the Regional Minister, the purpose of the first quarter review is to take a retrospective look at the status of implementation of the agreed work plans between the three Assemblies and GIZ and also to discuss the best way to form a partnership with all the Municipal And District Assemblies in the region by the end of the year for proper digitalization to ensure they generate enough revenue.

Hon. Adu Gyan pleaded with the various traditional councils in the region to throw their support behind GIZ-GovID progress for the betterment of the region. 

The Bono East GIZ regional advisor, Mr Emmanuel Nsoaah Kabiah, revealed they operate in all the 16 regions in the country and their main aim is to help the government's initiative of Street Naming and Property Addressing as well as digitizing Ghana to become a reality.

He said such initiative will also help in the Mobilization of revenue in all the Assemblies in the country and helps develop the country.
