Bono: 2005 Year Group Of Wenchi Model "D" Basic School Donates To Alma Matter

The 2005  - year group of Wenchi Model "D" Basic School in the Bono Region has donated 6 marker boards to their alma mater. A member of the group, Nana Twumasi Ankrah recalled when they were in the school about 17 years ago their teachers used to complained that chalk dust were entering their eyes and also makes their clothes dirty.

The 2005  - year group of Wenchi Model "D" Basic School in the Bono Region has donated 6 marker boards to their alma mater.

A member of the group, Nana Twumasi Ankrah recalled when they were in the school about 17 years ago their teachers used to complain that chalk dust was entering their eyes and also makes their clothes dirty.

Our Senior Prefect (SP) by then mobilized us to our alma mater to see whether the challenge have been resolved but unfortunately, when we came here we find out that the problems remain as he narrated.

Furthermore, he said they decided to acquire the school with this whiteboard and their accessories.

Presenting the items to the school Nana Twumasi Ankrah explained that even though the group completed school 17 years ago they still appreciate the role of the school in shaping their lives academically and socially, hence deeming it fit the growth of the school in their small way.

The gesture by the group was in a bid to promote quality teaching and learning at the school.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Wenchi Municipal Director of the Ghana Education Service, Mr. Joseph Yaw Mensah praised the old students for their kind gesture.

He emphasized that in the history of the municipality it was the first time such a thing had happened.

Mr. Joseph Mensah pledged that the headmaster and teachers of the school will make good use of the items to serve as their intended purpose.

He used the opportunity to call on other well-meaning old students and citizens of the Wenchi Municipality to contribute to the growth of the education sector.

On his part the Headmaster of the school, Mr. Dekyi Francis thanked the group for their kind gesture.

He indicated that the items would gain in academic performance.

Mr. Dekyi Francis finally appealed to another year group to emulates the 205-year group by coming to their aid to provide the school with water.
