Bogoso-Apiate  Deadly Explosion Should Not Happen In Future Again! ...Chamber of Mines Cautious As It Promises To Support The Victims
The Ghana Chamber of Mines has stated that the incident of the chemical truck explosion which killed seventeen (17) persons and injured fifty-nine (59) others in Bogoso-Apiate in the Huni Valley District of the Western Region should be a wake-up welcome call to all and sundry to make efforts to prevent such unfortunate accident in the future.
 
According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Chamber of Mines, Mr Sulemanu Koney, the Chamber received with deep sorrow the accident leading to the explosion at Apiate that led to the loss of lives and destruction of properties worth billions of Ghana cedis.
"We should make every effort to prevent such unfortunate accidents in the future,” the CEO of the Chamber of Mines stressed.
A statement from the Chamber on Thursday, January 20, 2022, a by its president Mr Eric Asubonteng pledged the mining Chamber’s support to the rescue missions that are still ongoing.
“We offer our deepest condolences to the
families of the deceased and assure them of our support during this difficult period. The immediate priority is to provide relief to the families of the deceased as well as cater for the needs of the injured and the people in the community,” statement stated.
It commended the Ghana Police Service, the Ghana National Fire Service, NADMO, Minerals Commission, and mining companies for the timely intervention in the matter.
“We continue to collaborate with these organisations in the search and rescue efforts.
