Blogs apologise to Pastor Amoateng over Defamatory news.
Pastor Brian Amoateng

Lawyers of Pastor Brian Amoateng issued a statement to demand a retraction and apology from ghanacelebrities.com and yen.com.gh for publishing defamatory articles about their client, because the two blogs carried fake news concerning the pastor's marital affairs.

When Controversial media personality Afia Schwarzenegger claimed that the marriage between Dr. Kwaku Oteng and Sally Akua Amoakowaa Mensah widely known was in turmoil because the husband discovered that she was cheating on him with a certain "Pastor Amoateng", the blogs posted the story immediately instead of confirming the news to be true before proceeding.

The two blogs have subsequently apologized. With ghanacelebrities.com stating that it erroneously made conclusions. Yen.com.gh asked the man of God to take “into consideration Matthew 6:14-15, which says: ‘for if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive your sins’.”

The lawyers released the statement that said: “In the said videos, no mention was made of our clients and consequently it is most regrettable for your portal to link the said publication to our clients and further use their pictures without their notice or consent,” a portion of a notice sent to the publishers read.

“It is our respectful position that your publication was made with the sole of aim of bringing into disrepute, the hard-earned credentials of our clients, to ridicule them in the eyes of right-thinking members of the Ghanaian society and beyond and mischievously reduce their integrity and put their reputation which they have built within their pastoral life into dishonor, contempt, and reproach for their church and family,” it added while calling for a retraction and apology.
