The spokesperson for the former Regional Minister of the then Brong Ahafo Region Eric Opoku, Mr Kobby Acheampong has said the Political figures in the Bono Region have not been helpful to the progress of the region whiles commenting on the loss of Tano Bofoakwa FCs failure to qualify after rumors of the Vice Presidents influence in the game.

He was speaking on Ark FM’s socio-political show dubbed Issues, saying the qualification of the club could have had a great economic benefit on the region hence the need for political figures in the Region to have done everything within their power to make Bofoakwa’s vision a reality.

He said the leadership of the region should have been proactive by ensuring there was equity in the match between B A United and Real Tamale united RTU which confirmed the rumours of the vice presidents influence on the qualification of R T U as the conduct of the referee was appointing to that fact.

Meanwhile, the Communications Director for the New Patriotic Party was worried about how Mr Kobby Acheampong was being mischievous trying to score cheap political points out of the misfortune of Bofoakwa Tano FC and also inciting the people of the two regions against each other.

He also said Kobby Acheampong is trying to create the impression on the side of the Minority leader who is in the NDC following his huge sum of money donated to RTU.

Honourable Kwasi Ameyaw Kyeremeh also donated to Bofo therefore issues of football must remain so and not politicized.
