Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Assembly in the Western North Region has rejected the presiding member for the Assembly in the recently held election.

On Friday, 24th September 2021, a high powered delegation comprising, Honourable Richard Ebbah Obeng, Western North Regional Minister, Honourable Alfred Obeng-Boateng, MP for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency and Mr Alfred Amoah MCE Nominee for Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai were all present at the election.

Authorities pleaded with the Assembly Members and the constituents to exercise restraint for a new date to be set soon.

It would be recalled that the Assembly has been without Presiding Member for almost two years.

On his part, the Member of Parliament, Hon Alfred Obeng Boateng lamented that lack of a functional Assembly will affect the development of the Municipality so they should expedite action on the matter.

The Western North Regional Minister, Hon Richard Ebbah Obeng, outlined the various opportunities being missed by the Municipality as a result of the dysfunctional Assembly.

He continued that members should work hard in order to catch up with the already existing regions in terms of development.

The leaders promised to make further and deeper consultations to summon the issue at stake.
