Berekum People Cautions Over Ongoing Inner City Roads Construction by the Ministry of Roads and Highway.

The Ministry of Roads and Highways acting through the Department of Urban Roads is implementing the above project. The project is part of the Master Support Agreement (MPSA) of the Government of Ghana signed with Sinohydro Corporation Limited to support priority infrastucture projects in Ghana.

This project will develop a total of 39KM selected roads, missing links and intersections in some location in Sunyani and Berekum to improve mobility and enhanced economic growth.

As a result of the on-going works, there will be interruption to traffic flow on a section on a section of the Alawa Street, which forms part of the Berekum inner ring road, from Wednesday 9th November, 2022 to Monday 9th January, 2023 to enable the contractor demolish the exiting culvert and reconstruct a new culvert across the road.

Commuters who wish to access their homes beyond the culvert are kindly advised to do so using the end of the Alawa street using the continental Road and follow the teaffic diverson signs to be placed at the section of the road during the period.

We are therefore appealing to the general public to co-operate with the Department of Urban Roads and the contractor during this period.
