Residents of Mpatasie in the Berekum East Municipality of the Bono Region are crying over the refusal of the Assembly to evacuate refuse in the community which has been in existence for more than five decades.

According to residents whom Soiree News Nana Ama Asiedu engaged, several attempts made to get the Assembly to come to their aid has proven futile.

Assemblymember of Mpatasie/Peepaase Electoral Area, Honourable Kyereh Gabriel in an interview with Soireenews disclosed that three big heaped refuse is in the community cited in the middle of the town which is a threat to the health of the inhabitants.

Honourable Kyere noted that his electoral area is the biggest in the Municipality and appealed to the  Assembly to immediately come to their aid to solve the sanitation challenges for them.

However, efforts to get the Municipal Chief Executive for the area, Honourable Kofi Agyei to explain the reasons behind the Assembly’s failure to evacuate the heap refuse yielded no good results as SoireeNews Nana Ama Asiedu was informed that the MCE is in the capital of Ghana, Accra with the president and may not be able to speak until his returns back to station.

Soiree News will be bringing updates as and when we are able to reach him.
