The National President for Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA), Andrew Danso Aninkorah has called on the Ghanaian media to be abreast with the Right to Information Bill.

According to him, the passage of the law alone is not enough but the media should know everything in it to make its application simple. He believes that this will help the press to exercise their freedom very well.

He made this known when he spoke with Soiree News on World Press Freedom Day.

The World Press Freedom Day is an opportunity to point out the abuses that are perpetrated against journalists, and to recommit to protect the media community.

On his part, the Bono Regional President for Ghana Journalist Association (GJA),  Larry Papa Kwesi Moses said politicians in the country are making it difficult to make Ghanaian Press enjoy Freedom. According to him, these politicians through bad means have divided the press to their advantage

He however entreated the media to choose professionalism over money and popularity to enable them become responsible journalists.
