Barima Okata Amoah II, is the famous paramount chief of Yakoko in the Eastern Region who orchestrated the construction of the their abandoned road awarded to the contractor by the government through the Ministry of Roads and Highways.

The ongoing construction of the road is hugely contributing to the free movement of the farm products from the community to the various market centres in Accra and the Eastern Region.

According to Barima Okata Amoah II who the people described as the the agent of the socio-economic development and growth of Yakoko, he sees it to be part of government responsibility to construct their road which was abandoned.

He pointed out that he has joined hands together to construct their abandoned road because he realizes that the central government has refused to push for the completion of the said road.

"When we all support ourselves in the community,I think we can do almost everything on our own without even consulting the government.

"My vision as a traditionally and customarily installed Chief of Yakoko is to do all the needed development in the community, which I have started with the construction of the road," Barima Okata Amoah II stated this in an interview with Soireenews.com.

According to him, the Yakoko is a farming community, saying that every farming community needs better roads to transport their products to the market centres.

He promised of his commitment to carry carry many social and infrastructure projects and programmes to improve the living conditions of the people in his community.

"After the road construction of this road,there are a lot of projects that I will be bringing to the community.

"I will also appeal to the government to impress upon the Ayensuano municipality to be precised, the Yakoko and Kwadjo Fosu and give us the needed projects that we want," the chief stressed.

He complained that it seems that the government of Ghana has ignored the Yakoko community for a very long time.

"This is the time that we have come together doing the developmental of the government in the community,,so this should be an advantage to the government to come out and support us," the chief emphasized.

Following this development, Barima Amoah II advised all the youth in the community to be disciplined  and law abiding since they  approaching to Christmas festivities.

The chief stressed the need for teenage girls Yakoko and Kwadjo Fosu to take their education seriously, as there is saying that  "education is the key to success."

Barima Okata Amoah II used the opportunity to invite all Ghanaian to come and support and celebrate with them in their annual festival, which is scheduled to start from December 26, 2022 to 1st of January 2023.

Some of the community members also expressed appreciation to Barima Okata Amoah II for his efforts in construction of the abandoned road.
