Barcelona Reach Agreement To Sign Memphis Depay

Barcelona has taken a huge step towards securing the services of one of their priority target, Memphis Depay.

The Catalans have reportedly reached an agreement over a deal for the Dutch International, who has just one demand left to officially formalize his switch to the Nou Camp.

Memphis has improved tremendously on the field of play over the past four years ever since his departure from the Red Devils to Lyon in January 2017.

The former Manchester United star is now widely regarded as one of the best attacking players on the pitch in Europe today, who is also a pivotal figure for the Netherlands.

The prolific Dutch striker will be remembered by the Lyon supporters for his incredible performance this season, with a return of 21 goals and 20 assists in 38 appearances across all competitions to show for his efforts.

The 27-year-old Dutch International contract with Lyon runs out this summer and the Blaugrana has been intent on securing his services on a free transfer for quite some time now.

Barca had attempted to sign the Lyon forward in each of the last two transfer windows as well, but it all failed to materialize.

Heading towards this summer’s transfer window, Barca’s position in securing the services of Memphis now has been strengthened further by the fact that Depay’s contract with Lyon comes to an end this season.
