Ayikai Doblo Chieftaincy Dispute: Our Newly-Installed Chief Is Not Land Quards Kingpin---Youths And Accredited Elders Of Fires At Armah Daniel Tetteh And His Followers 

The general public, particularly the citizens and residents living in Ayikai Doblo in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region were being advised to completely ignore the allegations made against the legal and lawful installation of 46-year-old famous Ghanaian business entrepreneur, Amo Dodoo, aka Nii Azonto or TJ, as the new Chief of Ayikai Doblo Divisional Stool.

According to the principal and accredited elders of Ayikai Doblo Divisional Stool under the Akumadjen Traditional Area in Ga State, the so-called legitimate elders of Ayikai Doblo led by Daniel Armah Tetteh, who had caused the publication to be made which went viral on local and social media platforms were invented of big lies and trouble makers in the area.

They argued that these unscrupulous individuals imposters and fake.personalities, stressing that they didn't not have traditional capacity and even are not in rightful position per the custom and traditions of Ayikai Doblo to challenge whoever the rightful royal elders of Ayikai Doblo, particularly the Paramount Chief of Akumadjen Traditional Area, Nii Ayikai III and the Principal chief priest (Wolumo) of the Ga State, Nai Wolumo installed to ascend the throne in the area.

They stressed that the elders of Ayikai Doblo with the supreme support of Nii Ayikai II and Nai Wolumo with the wide consultation of other prominent traditional office holders in the Ga state have legally and customarily installed Nii Ayikai Doblo IV and his installation as the new chief cannot be challenged by the unaccredited personalities of the Ayikai Doblo.

These so-called legitimate elders of Ayikai Doblo in the persons of Osmanu Odartey Lamptey, Mustaphah Harlen Amponsah, Reuben Adjakwa, Mr David Tei Tagoe and Samuel Odartey Lamptey Mr. Solomon Teittey Tagoe, Ibrahim Darku Amponsah, Alhaji Ibrahim Tettey Okai, Okyeame Mantey, Rashid Attoh Tetteh, Musah Otto Amponsah and Usif Odartei Lamptey are not being recognized or have traditional locus to delve into the matters related to the chieftaincy affairs in the area.

They described Daniel Armah Tetteh as self-acclaimed head of Omanu Shia family in Ayikai Doblo, saying that Daniel Armah Tetteh is using that ‘fake’ traditional position to organize these aforementioned individuals to create series of unnecessary confusion and trouble in the Ayikai Doblo of the Ga State.

They stated categorically that Daniel Armah Tetteh who is a mere member of Omanu Shia family in Ayikai Doblo is not neither his Omanu Shia family was part of the three royal families in the area.

They added that the arrogant Daniel Armah Tetteh family is being recognized as the fetish shrine which has no lineage to the royal families of the Ayika Doblo Stool.

“They have legitimately nominated, elected and selected and installed Nii Ayikai Doblo IV as the legitimate Ayikai Doblo Mantse and that he would be soon inducted into the Ga Traditional Council. Therefore the above publication is not only false, mischievous and malicious but also contemptuous,”the elders. stressed.

They explained that that the uniqueness of the installation was the peaceful and proper procedural steps taken for the installation in the in accordance with Ga tradition.

He added that the Ayikai Doblo Divisional Stool has installed Nii Ayikai Doblo after the chieftaincy seat become vacant since the substantive chief of the area, Nii Ayikai Doblo III died in the 2017 which is about six years now.

He further explained that per the Ga culture, tradition, custom, norm and usages the seat of the chief has to be vacant before another one to be installed to ascend the throne.

The principal and accredited elders of Ayikai Doblo Divisional Stool made this clarification in a sharp response to the current news items published on the Ghanaweb.com which was entitled; "Ga West police patrol Ayikai Doblo amidst growing tensions following Azonto's re-emergence."

The story of the news portal mentioned above fakes elders of Ayikai Doblo led by Daniel Tetteh who vehemently attacked the integrity of the new Ayikai Doblo Mantse including Nii Ayikai III and Nai Wolumo.

Speaking in an interview with journalists, elders and kingmakers who installed Nii Ayikai Doblo IV, stressed that there are no iota of true in the allegations that these detractors levelled against the installation of the new chief of the area.

According to the principal elders, they have taken Nii Dodoo through rightful Ga culture, traditions and customs before he was installed, saying the publication made by these self seeking individuals were a calculated attempt to throw dust onto face of the general public.

They vehemently denied the allegations of these individuals in their news publication that the installation of Nii Ayikai Doblo was illegally performed at the residence of one Nii Nortey Caezar at Kwashiman in Accra.

They explained that Nii Ayikai Doblo IV and his people went to an invited programme at Kwashieman but they have not gone there to install Nii Dodoo as the chief as was being peddled in the news publication attributed to these detractors.

They pointed out that looking at the lies being peddled in the publication of these critics led Daniel Armah Tetteh showed clearly that they were ignorance of the culture, tradition and custom of the Ga State.

On the true fact of the matter, the elders reiterated that the installation of Nii Dodoo was legally and traditionally performed by the Paramount of the Akamanjen Traditional Area under the Ga Tradition Council, Nii Ayikai II at his palace in James Town in Accra. 

And that in the accordance of Ga tradition and customs, they noted that Nii Ayikai II was assisted by Nai Wolumo since there are no ligimate chief priest in Ayikai Doblo Division Stool.

They noted that the claimed by the group of Daniel Tetteh that they were three royal families who stood against the installation of Nii Ayikai Doblo IV was baseless and unfounded.

They stripped Nii Armah Tetteh naked saying that he is an imposter or self-styled family head, warning him to stop of creating unnecessary confusion or else he would incure their wrath.

Articulating on the rightfully processes on how the installation of the chief were done in Ayikai Doblo, they indicated that per the customs and traditions of the Ga State when the elders and kingmakers grabbed the person to be installed at his residence, they moved him to the Ayikai Doblo Divisional main stool house to pour libations and performed some necessary rituals.

They indicated after performing these rituals before the elders would moved the potential candidate to the Akamanjen Traditional Stool House at James Town in Accra to kept there in for the paramount of Akamanjey, Nii Ayikai II to perform his part of the rituals.

They mentioned that all the first, second and third chiefs who were legally, traditionally and customarily installed to ascend the throne  have brought from Ayika Dobblo to keep in the Akamanjen Traditional Stool House at James Town in Accra and performed the necessary Ga rituals before they were outdoored to the general public at Ayikai Doblo.

They stated that they have taken Nii Dodoo through these customary processes when they grabbed him on Friday April 15, 203 to be installed the new chief of the area.

They denied that they are no gun shoots in Ayikai Doblo which led the police to storm the area.

They indicated what happened was that when Nii Ayikai Doblo IV was grabbed and presented to the Ayikai Doblo main stool house in the night of Friday April 15, 2023, there were firing of ponder guns to signify the Ga culture and traditions that a potential person is being grabbed to be installed the chief of the area.

They pointed that after these scrupulous individuals misreported the issue to the Ga West District Police that there were gun shots in Ayikai Doblo township, the police offices were deployed to the area and moved to the stool house.

Following this development, they mentioned that Nii Ayikai Doblo IV himself came out from the stool house to explain to the police officers that they are not firing of guns in the area but they are firing mustering ( ponder guns) to signify that they are installing a new chief in the area and after these explainations the police officers left.

They denied that allegations to the effects that Azonto's violent activities in pursuit of his illegitimate chieftaincy ambitions led to the assassination of Mary Nteshe and Sulley Amarkai Amartey in 2009 and 2013 respectively.

According to them, these pure cooked and fabricated stories being made by these critics to achieve their points.

On the killing of Sulley Amarkai Amartey , the elders pointed out that he went to the building project site in the bush of the outskirt of the area to fight and unfortunately he was killed, saying that Nii Ayikai Doblo IV has no hard in the killing of him and Mary Nteshe.

Meanwhile thousands of youths living in Ayikai Doblo have overwhelming welcomed the decision of the kingmakers and elders to install Nii Amu Doodo popularly known as Nii Azooto TJ as new Chief of the area to succeed the late substantive Chief, Nii Ayikai Doblo, who passed on in 2017.

Describing Nii Dodoo as a “unifier, team builder, peacemaker and a good listener, the youth stated that Nii Doodo who was born and bred in Ayikai Doblo has chieftaincy leadership credentials and also visible, submissive and they believed strongly that since he was now installed the Chief of the area, he would continue to work hard to transform the lives of citizens, particularly the youths in the area.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday April 20, 2023 at Ayikai Doblo community  Tuesday April 17, 2023,, scores of the youth who had converged on the palace of the Ayikai-Doblo Stool maintained that the achievements chalked by Nii Doodo as the lawful and legal caretaker for Ayikai Doblo stool lands were unprecedented.

According to the youths, the elders and kingmakers made a good choice of selecting screening and installing Nii Amu Doodo as their news chief because they believed that he was the good personal to be installed a new chief saying that he would to work hard to bring sustainable development to the area.

"We are happy that our elders and kingmakers listening to our numbers on them to make 
Nii Doodo, who is hard working citizen of Ayikai Doblo, as their new Chief because he has done a lot in bringing social and economic initiatives to improve to the lives of the people, particularly the youths in the area.

"They mentioned that the newly installed chief  even at the time he was installed has been using his personal monies to pay the school fees of some needy pupils and students, medical bills of some of the youth, orderlies and lactating mothers.

He also bought motor bikes and taxi cabs for the youths to be used for commercial driving business.

They mentioned that the great success of Ayikai-Doblo was accomplished with the able leadership of Nii Doodo.

They stressed that Nii Dodoo has “proven beyond all reasonable doubts” that the Paramount Chief of Akumajen Stool, Nii Ayikai III, together with his elders who have granted a Power of Attorney (PA) to him to represent the Akumajen Stool in all matters relating to land transactions in Ayikai Doblo community under Ga Mashie made the right choice.

They pointed that they were full of praise to our kingmakers and elders because since
he has been granted a power of attorney to take care of the lands in the area. Nii Doodo has distinguished himself as a development-oriented, human-centered individual as well as a great asset to the Ayikai-Doblo community.

"We are thanking our kingmakers and elders for their wisdom to install him as the new Mantse of Ayikai Doblo.We ready to rally behind Nii Ayikai Doblo IV to help bring the needed development to the area," the youth stressed

The youths also noted that Ayikai-Doblo community has benefitted from several developmental projects including schools, hospitals, sporting facilities, water and sanitation, law and security, economic development and roads all through the instrumentality of Nii Dodoo.
