The Ayensuano National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth Wing of the Eastern Region has strongly condemned the vandalism of the District Office of the Electoral Commission in Asuboi, which occurred on December Tuesday 10, 2024.
The leadership emphasized that this incident was not sanctioned by the Ayensuano NDC Youth Leadership.
“The Ayensuano NDC Youth Wing does not condone or support any form of violence or destruction of public property,” the leadership stated, urging the Ghana Police Service to take immediate action and penalize those involved.
The Youth Wing cautioned the youth against taking the law into their own hands, warning of severe consequences.
They echoed President Mahama’s appeal for calm and support for a peaceful transition, stressing that no youth should engage in looting or destruction of state property.
Furthermore, the Ayensuano NDC Youth Wing warned district assembly members against misappropriating government property, vowing to take swift action and hold those responsible accountable.
The District Chief Executive Officer was also cautioned against sharing government resources with the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The NDC Youth Wing further urged all stakeholders to remain calm and supportive of a smooth transition, enabling the government to “reset Ghana and build a brighter future.”
"We warn any member of the district assembly who misappropriates government property at this last minute of their government that we will take swift action. We will closely monitor and hold those responsible accountable. We caution the District Chief Executive Officer that sharing government resources with the NPP will not be tolerated.
" Finally, we caution and strongly warn all NDC youth within the constituency that taking the law into their hands will result in severe consequences. We urge all stakeholders to remain calm and supportive of a smooth transition, enabling our government to reset Ghana and build a brighter future," the statement noted.
