The Senior Public Health Engineer of the Awutu Senya Municipal Assembly, Mr Gabriel Agyei Brifa indicated that they held a meeting with the owners of the facilities last year July and asked them to comply with assembly sanitation laws.

The Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly Task has closed down public toilet facilities that have linked thier sewage to gutters instead of sceptic tanks.
The Senior Public Health Engineer of the Awutu Senya Municipal Assembly, Mr Gabriel Agyei Brifa indicated that they held a meeting with the owners of the facilities last year July and asked them to comply with assembly sanitation laws.
The meeting according to him, was held following an earlier complains by some commuters that some public facilities have been discharge thier waste into gutters.
"So we decided to check today Wednesday February 1, 2023 whether the owners of the toilet facilities are indeed complying with the laws as we approach rainy season to prevent cholera outbreak," Mr Brifa said when speaking on Pink FM monitored by Soireenews.com.
He noted that those whose toilet facilities  have been closed down have flouted assembly sanitation laws, some are without permit, others discharge the waste to gutters. 
He pointed out that some where served with summoned letters to  come to the assembly and further arraigned to court. 
Mr Brifa disclosed that his outfit will after this exercise consider houses discharging public waste into gutters, health certificate of food vendors thus restaurants and the likes and if found coupable the law will take it course.
