Paramount Queen-mother of Kwabenya Traditional Area in Ga East Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, Naa Korkoi Dugbatey II, has counselled candidates writing this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to do away with all forms of examination malpractices.

The mother of all children as she affectionately called reminded the students that there is dignity in honest labour and as future leaders, they must desist from cutting corners in their quest for good grades at all cost.

She also admonished the candidates against impersonation during the examination, which he said could lead to prosecution as it was a criminal offence to do so.

She said her outfit aims to develop the talents of children as well as helping improve their education.

The donation forms part of her regular corporate social responsibility(CSR) to the poor and needy students and residents within her catchment area.

The donation took place on Monday, November 15, 2021, before the commencement of this year's BECE to aid the students to mitigate the challenges of the unavailability of food around the exam centres. 

Amongst the items donated were assorted cooked food items, dozens of nose masks and sachet water.

According to the Queen-mother, "My decision for the continuous donation to final year students every year in my area is aimed  at encouraging them to bring out the best that they can."

"The schools within the municipality that benefitted from my benevolence gesture include Kwabenya M/A Three Basic School, Atomic Hills One Basic School and Gold Avenue School amongst others.

"My prayer is that the pupils of these schools in my area will succeed and perform very well at their examination. I also want their performance to be a source of encouragement to other school-going boys and girls within the Kwabenya traditional area," the Queen-mother stated.

She called on all benevolence organizations across the country to come to the aid of the vulnerable in society.

According to her, a gesture in that direction will help lift the educational standard of the vulnerable within every society across the country.

The queen further promised to sustain the kindness going forward as a way to maintain her footprint in the lives of the pupils.

She urged the pupils to put up the best of character worthy of emulation and for building a better future for themselves.

She promised to replicate the gesture in the coming years.

The items were received by supervisors of the various examination centres with gratitude.

They further prayed for good health and longevity for the QueenMother.

BECE began on Monday, November 15, 2021, with over Five hundred and seventy-one thousand final year pupils across the country.
