Traditional leaders in the Assin South District led by the Chief of Assin Nsuaem, Nana Kwabena Wadie III, has supervised the revoking of curses brought against certain officials in the Central Region.

The Central Regional Minister, Mrs Marigold Assan, Deputy Minister of Education, Rev John Ntim Fordjour, DCE for Assin South, Ms Felicia Ntrakwa Amissah, Central Regional Police Commanders DCOP Dennis Abade, Assin Fosu Divisional Police commander ACP Augustine Luguyare and other political figures for were afflicted for allegedly preventing them from taking part in the recent DCE election.

Meanwhile, the suspects were charged to pay for some items which include ram, schnapps, and cash of ¢1000 to pacify the gods, an indication that cursing on the land of Assin is prohibited.

This was after the Fante Nyankomase Magistrate Court had granted an out of court settlement following an appeal by the chief of Nsuaem.

Nana Kwabena Wadie III in an interview with Soireenews Central Regional Correspondent, Abusuapanyin Kojo Ahinful, however, advised the youth to desist from invoking curses no matter the provocation rather find an amicable way to resolve disputes.

He also appealed to the Assin South DCE, Ms Felicia Ntrakwa Amissah to build a good relationship with the Assembly members and also give out her best to propel development for the area since Assin South is lagging behind in terms of development.

Mr Jonathan Osei Owusu, the Assemblymember for Assin Nsuta electoral area who spoke on behalf of the 15 Assembly members, noted that they chose to reverse the curse not because they are okay with what transpired but for the sake of Assin South's development.

He told Soireenews that what happened was a stain on Ghana's democracy.
