According to him, there is no reason to be worried or afraid that the NDC would lose the seat to the NPP, stressing that the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa parliamentary seat being currently occupied by Honourable Alhaji Alhassan Kobina Ghansah is still a safe NDC seat for the 2024 showdown.

The Asikuma Odoben Brakwa Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Central Region, Mr George Ofori Nuako, has allayed fear of the NDC losing its parliamentary seat to the ruling New Patriotic Party NPP (NPP) parliamentary candidate in the 2024 general elections.

According to him, there is no reason to be worried or afraid that the NDC would lose the seat to the NPP, stressing that the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa parliamentary seat being currently occupied by Honourable Alhaji Alhassan Kobina Ghansah is still a safe NDC seat for the 2024 showdown.
The workaholics Nuako pointed out that the records on the grounds within the constitueny with his outfit also building strong foundation and structures of the party in the grassroot levels of the NDC in the area have attested to the fact that the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa parliamentary seat is safe for the NDC in 2024.
He indicated that whoever emerges winner in the NDC up- coming parliamentary primaries on the ticket of the party in the area would be marketed as well as supported to retain the seat for the party in the 2024 polls.
Mr Nuako pledged to continue to work to bring total unity within the constitueny so that they could work together for the party to win the 2024 general elections.

The Asikuma Odoben Brakwa Constituency Chairman of the NDC was of the view that although there are some minor differences between some disgruntled members of the party who contested the positions and lost in the just ended internal constitueny executives election, his outfit has planned to begin reconciliation processes to get rid of any form of disunity and division among its key stakeholders in readiness for the crucial polls.
 
Hinged on the above, Mr Nuako noted that he has officially met with the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Asikuma Odoben Brakwa, Honourable Alhaji Alhassan Kobina Ghansah together with the Constitueny Secretary on Monday January 16, 2022 and successfully discussed on how to hold a wound healing and reconciliatory meeting with all the winners and lossers of just ended constituency conference to iron out any such differences.

He pointed out that they would fixed the date for the meeting and reiterated his commitment and readiness to embark on a reunification drive to build a formidable party capable of winning 2024 election.
 
According to him, the unity of the party, particularly among the constitueny executives was very crucial and assured that his outfit would put in place effective measures to ensure that there was unity among the party members and supporters in the area ahead of the 2024 general elections.
 
Mr Nuako was speaking in an interview with Soireenews.com to respond to the media reports that there was not unity and peace within the party in the area ahead of the upcoming NDC parliamentary primaries.
 
In a quick rebuttal, Mr. Nuako maintained that he would provide leadership that would foster unity and reconciliation among the members and supporters of the party.
He disclosed that he has even ensued that the party got a permanent constitueny office, adding that they are now operating the party administrative activities from the office after he used his own resources to renovate the office.
 
Responding to the issue of the movement to disqualify anyone who wanted to contest the NDC MP in the area, Mr Nuako maintained that it was not true that the siting MP is in league with the constitueny executives to disqualify any potential parliamentary candidate who wanted to contest the NDC primary on the ticket party in the area.
 
He stated that those who are making these false statements to leave the incumbent NDC MP alone because he has not made such move, since he doesn't have the capacity to decide that he would contest the NDC parliamentary candidate election unposed.
 
He re-emphasized that there are no intention to disqualify anyone who wanted to contest the upcoming NDC parliamentary primaries on the ticket of the party.
 
He explained that "how do we stop members of the NDC who are in good standing and also qualify to contest position within the party in the area. I want to assure the NDC faithfuls this cannot being done under my administration." 
 
He stated that there are stipulated guidelines and rules and regulations which have been governing the internal elections of the NDC and that "if a member of the NDC meet such requirements and qualify to contest the position whatever power we have as the constitueny executives to disqualify such person not to contest the internal elections."
Mr Nuako was known for his strictness leadership posture stressed that there have been historical envidences of competition in contests for the parliamentary candidatures on the ticket of the NDC in the the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa Constituency.
He mentioned that in the four years NDC's parliamentary primaries, there have been three qualified parliamentary candidates who had keenly contested for the position before  Honourable Ghansah won the primary to lead the party to win the seat in the 2020 general elections.
 
"So how comes that this year's we are not going to allow or deny members of the party who qualifies to contest the primaries from doing so. I want to state clearly that there are no intention to disqualify anyone from contesting the parliamentary election on the ticket of the NDC in the area. This story is cooked and completely false and unfounded," Mr. Nuako stressed.
 
He said his outfit allows competition in the race of the NDC parliamentary slot, saying that since the aspirants would pay money before picking their nomination forms to contest the position it would even served as an avenue for the party to raise enough funds to run administrative affairs of the party in the constitueny."
He was quick to point out that" we have not even be consulted or engaged by anyone that he has developed interest of contesting the NDC's parliamentary primaries in the area.
He added that "we heard on the air was that some people are distributing items to the delegates and members of the party by way of launching their bid to contest the incoming parliamentary election on the ticket of the NDC in the area."
