Ashanti regional Police Command investigates Kennedy Agyapong's threats against Multimedia journalist

The Ashanti Regional Police Command however in a press statement revealed that the command has received a former complaint and petition from the Multimedia Group against Hon. Kennedy Agyapong for his threats allegedly made against Mr Erastus Asare Donkor and is however giving it much attention.

Ashanti regional Police Command investigates Kennedy Agyapong's threats against Multimedia journalist

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has assured Ghanaians and all journalists of the seriousness and attention it is giving to an alleged threat on a Multimedia journalist by Honourable Kennedy Agyapong.

In a press statement released and signed by the Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP David Agyemang Adjem, investigations have been launched into the matter as the regional police command assures safety.

The command however assures its preparedness to protect each and every person in the region.

Mr Kennedy Agyapong on July 9th threatened to beat Mr Erastus Asare Donkor, a Multimedia who appeared before a committee that is set to investigate the incident that led to the death of some people at Ejura and the injury of many others.

The Central Law Maker who made the comment on his Net 2 TV expressed dissatisfaction over how the Multimedia journalist gave his witness before the committee. He however threatened that the journalist deserved to be lashed with an uncountable number of canes. 

This statement which didn't go down well with most Ghanaians has received a series of attention and condemnation.

"The petition is receiving attention and being investigated by the Regional Crime Officer, and any further developments will be communicated.
Let us allow the Police to investigate the matter and not to inflame passion and make comments that could ultimately mar the investigations". The statement reads.

It could be recalled that this is not the first time such threats have been made against a journalist by the Assin Central Lawmaker.  A similar threat was made by him to a Tiger Eye P. I journalist, Amhed Hussein Suele who died few days on.
