The Executive Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Dr. Kwame Kyei has expressed gratitude to the thousands of supporters who trooped to the Baba Yara Stadium to cheer their team to victory over Etoile Du Sahel.

Speaking in an interview with Light FM based in Kumasi, Dr. Kyei talked about issues in the club including the new tickets project, which saw the club print and sell tickets containing high security features.

Kotoko’s match with Etoile Du Sahel saw the club introduce the sale of 'advance ticket', something that has happened im club football for a while now.

The bank roller of the club also touched on the club’s victory against the Tunisian side and how he will ensure the team in qualifying to the group stages in the CAF Champions League. He also spoke about the plans of the stalled Adako Jachie Training Complex Project and how he wants it done early.

"First of all, I want to thank God for all the happenings. You cannot exclude God from your dealings, he has brought us this far and we are grateful to him. This is the initial stages of Gods' glory in the life of Asante Kotoko. Even if we had lost yesterday, I still would have ultimately given thanks to him. You all saw the reactions from Etoile, delaying from all angles, deliberately slowing the flow of the game but what God has said is final."

On the new ticketing structure, Dr. Kyei said; "I personally got involved in the redefinition of the tickets. So many racketeering has gone on within the past years and this time we didn't want it to happen again. We issued out 36,000 tickets and accumulated $120,000.00 thus GH 653,000.00 as gross income."

He added; "I wasn't surprised at all about the performance from my lads. We have invested so much which most people don't understand but when it reaches a certain stage; they will come to the realization of its fruitfulness."

"What happened is not by fluke but by hard work and discipline, I believe we will have a resounding victory in Tunisia. Nothing is impossible under the Lord, and where all hope is lost is where he shows himself strong."

Adako Jachie Project, the Executive Chairman revealed that he needs the supporters to get involved since he cannot do it alone.

"It's a project which is very important and dear to my heart. I cannot be doing it alone, i need the supporters involvement. As a leader, when you take a right step, certainly your subordinates will follow so i am expecting much from them."

Finally, Dr. Kyei thanked the supporters and attributed the victory to them. He reminded the fans to keep supporting Kotoko for the task of qualification is still unfinished.

"I want to extremely thank them for accepting this team and ultimately canvassing their support for the club whether rain or shine. The level of Kotoko right now solely depends on them. We still have an unfinished business so they should keep supporting and praying for the club."
