Artisan 27, Arrested In Cape Coast For Stabbing Musician To Death

The Cape Coast Police have arrested a 27-year-old artisan, Bright Ellis for stabbing his colleague musician Emmanuel Aikins 24 years to death.

On February 7, 2021, Bright Ellis the artisan stabbed his colleague, Emmanuel Aikins who was known in his music career as Soft Mental to death instantly, according to the Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Central Regional Police Command, Sergeant Isaac Evans Ettie.

Police reports suggest that there was a misunderstanding at Orange Beach Resort between the suspect (Bright Ellis) a musician in Cape Coast, and the deceased (Emmanuel Aikins) Soft Metal who is also a musician. In the process of the fracas, Bright Ellis stabbed Soft Metal with a knife, which led to him bled profusely. He was rushed to the Cape Coast Metropolitan Hospital for treatment but was pronounced  dead on arrival

The body was then deposited at the Bakaano mortuary for autopsy.

The suspect who also had injuries on his left hand made a report at the station against the deceased and was issued with a Police Medical report form to seek treatment.

He was later arrested at Cape Coast Metropolitan Hospital and detained.

The actual cause of the brawl between the two is unknown but the case is under investigation.
