Arsenal are confident they can come to terms with Willian from Chelsea when the season ends.

The Daily Express reports that the Gunners chiefs are working behind the scene for the Chelsea winger.

Willian is yet to agree terms with the club for the 2020-21 season after he asked for a three-year contract, but the Blues are currently only willing to sign him on a short-term basis.

“I already had a conversation with the club a few months ago, even before this break,” Willian said.

“Chelsea only offered me two years and I asked for three. My goal in the next contract is to sign for three years, so I haven’t had a deal with Chelsea yet.

“This is what I asked the club for, three years of contract. If you give me that, I’ll get the pen and sign the contract tomorrow.”

The Brazilian has provided Lampard’s side enough experience has notched seven goals and provided six assists.

His future is uncertain after the signing of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and Timo Werner from RB Leipzig is a boost for Frank Lampard ahead of next season. The tracking of Kai Havertz will be sufficient to offload a few players from Chelsea’s wage bill and Arsenal see it as an opportunity for the 31-year old.

Willian is also been monitored by Manchester United. The Red Devils are hoping to beat the Gunners for the signature of the versatile Brazilian although no concrete offer seems to have been proposed by any of the clubs according to the player.

"There are rumors about several teams that may be interested,” he said.

“For the time being, I have had no concrete proposal. But rumors always arise. I’m waiting. My agent hasn’t given me any news yet. I’m waiting for his call.”
