The New Patriotic Party Women's Wing at Sekyere Kumawu Constituency in the Ashanti Region is calling on President Akufo-Addo to consider the appointment of a woman to the position of the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Sekyere Kumawu District Assembly.

According to them, men have attained the position for far too long yet, the district is lagging behind the development.

The women's wing says it expected the Sekyere Kumawu District to have seen substantial progress by now because all the DCEs who have assumed office have been men.

The  PRO for the group, Yaa Adoma told the press that, the district lacks proper roads, health facilities, educational facilities, potable water, modern markets among other important infrastructures which should have been achieved by now.

She said all the men have failed to accomplish what the people of Sekyere Kumawu District anticipated of them.

She added that the group has a strong belief that a woman can help in the fast development of the district should he (President Akufo-Addo) take a bold decision to consider the appointment of a female, as DCE.

Arguably, the women's wing says women are better managers of positions like the DCE, MCE, Minister among other important positions due to their dedication and self-discipline, according to the  PRO.

The NPP group claims women do not disappoint when they are given positions accordingly, President Akufo-Addo should not bother to appoint a man as Sekyere Kumawu DCE rather he should nominate a woman for the position because a woman can handle it better than what the men have done.
