Another Police Killed In Eastern Region

Information gathered by Soiree News 24 (SN24) indicates that Two Policemen have been shot by a group of armed robbers at Techiman - Pramkese Oda road in the Akyem Oda Municipal of the eastern region.

The incident happened yesterday around 8:30 pm.

One sustained an injury of gunshot wounds in his elbow while the other died in the process.

The deceased, Sgt Moses Tetteh Nartey was shot on his chest and on his head but Cpl. Christian Totimeh was lucky to have escaped death though gunshots at his elbow on his left arm, according to the information.

According to one of the victims, at about 8:30 pm yesterday, they were four young men traveling from a nearby town by motorbikes to Takyiman.

Suddenly came across one person lying in pain along the road so they drew closer to help the perceived injured man they later realised it was a plan work between the robbers and the suspected injured person.

In their attempt to rescue the perceived injured person, the robbers laid them ambushed, injuring some of the young men but they were able to run for their lives and escaped. Some of them sustained injuries through the firing of guns on them by the armed robbers.

One of the victims rushed to an information center in Prankese and announced the incident.

The two policemen on duty then joined the young man and rushed to the scenes to ascertain the situation but the armed robbers fired gunshots at the policemen on their arrival. Sgt Nartey died instantly after he was shot by the robbers while the other police officer suffered wounds on his elbow.

The information continued that the place is said to be a danger zone where armed robbers mostly snatch motorbikes from motorists.
