The Adansiman progressive association (APA), has accused AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi mine of neglecting residents in Adansi in terms of job recruitment.

They say a section of land which belongs to Aga has been released for Bekwai youth for mining, the organization needs similar to be accomplished for Obuasi youth.

Touching on other issues, the group is demanding full support from the mine to work together towards a common goal by protecting River Gimi, the only river left in Adansi to be in good shape.

Akwasi Aboagye, the organizer for Adansiman progressive association addressing the media on 14 January 2022 said, the group months ago engaged the national peace council to address issues regarding separation among the chiefs of Adansi traditional council. 

He continued that, the step was made to bring together the chiefs as well as the good people of Adansi to boost development within the area. 

He explained how the institution fourth to combat ongoing illegal activities within Adansi. Adding that, their effort lead to the handover of River Gimi to ensure the full safety of the River which is the only river left in Adansi. 

"We have been requested by the ministry of lands and natural resources to plant trees within the bank of river Gimi, what is left is assistance to finance the workers".

He cautioned Anglo-Gold Ashanti to address the affirmation problems or the youth will take the law into their own hands and act in their favour.
