An ex-minister from Sudan has been released on bail.

Following last year's coup, a prominent Sudanese politician and former cabinet member were jailed by the military and released on bail.

Khalid Omer Yousif was a member of a task group that seized property and sacked bureaucrats associated with Omar al-Bashir, the former President of Sudan.

Two other members of the task force remain in custody.

General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Sudan's military chief, has begun restoring Bashir loyalists who were fired after the previous president was deposed in 2019.

There have been numerous rallies against the coup, which have been violently suppressed.

More least 90 protestors have died as a result of the violence.
