Seven people who were electrocuted at Amanfrom in the Asutifi South District of Ahafo Region have been laid to rest.

The deceased were laid to rest on Saturday, June 5 after a funeral service that attracted family and friends as well as sympathizers.

They met their untimely death on, May 16, when strong winds brought down electric poles which led to the dumping of live wires on the roof of a nearby house.

The roofing was electrified affecting all the metals and irons of the building. The victims however did not have any knowledge of the situation and touched the iron gates of the house thereby electrocuting them.

Five others sustained injuries but were rushed to the Saint Elizabeth Hospital at Hwidiem where they received treatment and are being discharged.

Speaking to Soireenews Correspondent Sulley Dramani, Some of the sympathizers shared fond memories of them.

“I am down to find my friend’s lifeless body today,” one said. “I sympathise with the family.” “We have been friends,” the other, said. “We do a lot of things together but I am sad about the incident.”
