All State Agencies, Internal Auditors  are incompetent; sack them all - Political Analyst Urges Akufo-Addo

The government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been called upon to, immediately sack all the Internal auditors in the Ministries, Departments and Assemblies (MDAs) to save the public purse of the country.

The Political Analyst, Mr Samuel Boateng who made the foregoing call described all the internal auditors in the MDAs as incompetent, stressing that they must vacate their post with immediate effect since they are not working to their expectations.

"I am saying that all the internal auditors in the MDAs have failed this country, so they should be sacked because they put Ghana economy into a mess," he added.

He stated that Ghanaians must hold all the Internal auditors in MDAs responsible for the irregularities and funds misappropriation of GH¢12.8billion in the various ministries, departments and other agencies.

He stressed that internal Auditors in the various Ministries, Agencies and other government institutions are to ensure that, cash irregularities and funds misappropriation are reduced or dealt with.

He added the internal Auditors are also mandatory to must ensure accurate checks and balances but that has not been reflecting in the various reports from the Auditor General which he said is undermining the integrity of the internal Auditors hence the need for them to vacate their post.

On the issue of effectively fighting corruption in the country, Mr Boateng stated that, rampant misuse of state monies as reported by the Auditor-General every year can be tackled when prosecution power is given to the Auditor General.

He added that strict punishment must be laid against any individuals who will be in the books of the Auditor General for causing financial loss to the state.
