Three men suspected to be criminals have been accosted by the Nkurakan Police, after a tip-off by middle age young men from Osuboi, in the Eastern Region, in the Yilo Krobo constituency after the just ended internal election.

Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Yilo Krobo constituency, Alhaji Teye Abubakarr has been under attack after the just ended internal election.

The men posturing to be from the Economic And Organised Crime Unit of the Ghana Police service, cunningly asked the brother of Alhaji about the celebration mood, owing to the victory of Alhaji in the just ended NPP constituency elections, which adjudged Alhaji as the Chairman.

The men alleged that Alhaji was hoarding some illegal goods, which they believed were criminal.

The men, who first asked about Alhaji's whereabouts, coerced Alhaji's younger, brother Narteh to a room, which they believed to be the suspected room where the alleged goods were kept, under duress.

It took the angry youth, who were around to drive this man out but one escaped. These men were alleged to be police, who were accosted by the youth and sent to the Nkurakan Police Station but later, transferred to Galloway in Koforidua for further investigation.

It will be recalled that the just-ended elections were married with tension by hoodlums from the opponents of Alhaji Teye Emmanuel's team, leading to voting under heavy security during the elections.

"Alhaji is doing well, and we want to assure the members that, NPP believes in internal democracy, any action to subvert the sovereign will of the people will be met with the fiercest resistance in all forms", they said.
