‘Alan Boys’ under suspension spree in Northern Region*
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has suspended two leading campaigners of NPP Flagbearer hopeful, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng who happens to be the Minister of Trade and Industry in the Akufo Addo government.
The suspended members are Dawuda Jentuma, an Electoral Area Coordinator for Choggu West Electoral Area and Alhaji Kaleem Ibrahim, a Member of the NPP Communication Team were suspended for allegation of going contrary to the directives of the party’s Regional Chairman, Mohammed Bantima Samba not to campaign for any candidate.
Their suspension comes after the two, engaged in a series of radio engagements to protest what they described as unfair treatment in the application of party rules and regulations by the NPP Regional chairman.
The two suspended persons accused the Regional Chairman of the party for allowing MP for Yendi, Alhaji Farouk Aliu and Karaga MP, Hon. Mohammed Amin Anta to declare their support to the Vice President Mahamadu Bawumia at public gathering and on live radio program.
Chairman Samba on the 30th of December 2021 issued a directive for party people to cease, among others, all media engagements purporting to campaign for flag bearer hopefuls.
Because the two members of Parliament were not sanction as required, the directive of the Chairman did not go down well with Mr Dawuda and other supporters of the Trades and Industry Minister who accused him of selectively applying the rules to favour the flagbearership bid of Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.
