The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has sacked the Commissioner of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Col. Kwadwo Damoah.

The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has sacked the Commissioner of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Col. Kwadwo Damoah.
The directive was for Col. Damoah to hand over his office following the expiration of his contract on October 13, 2021, effective Friday, August 26, 2022.
The letter from the office of the President the commissioner to hand over to the Acting Deputy Commissioner of Preventive Service, Mr Seidu Iddrisu Iddisah pending substantive appointment.
“Following the expiration of your contract of service as Commissioner (Customs Division) of the GRA on October 13, 2021, the President of the Republic has directed that effective Friday, August 26, 2022, you hand over your duties and office to the acting Deputy Commissioner (Preventive Service), Mr Seidu Iddrisu Iddisah, who will act as the Commissioner (Customs Division) pending the President’s substantive appointment.”
“The President thanks you for your service to the State and wishes you well in your future endeavours,” the letter stated.
Many Ghanaians are therefore linking Col. Damoah’s sacking to the ongoing investigations by the Special Prosecutor at the Customs Division and the Labianca case.
