“Akufo-Addo is a hypocrite”- NDC communicator fumes over Rawlings funeral

According to Amidu Bukari, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo abandoned the Anlo tradition.

The communication officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Atebubu-Amantin Constituency, Amidu Bukari has stated that the interference by President Akufo-Addo in the funeral arrangements of the late former president Rawlings was not in order.

“Everyone knew Rawlings to have hailed from the Anglo ancestry, they knew he’s been installed a chief in Anglo area and didn’t see why the Anglo tradition was not displayed but Kete and Adowa which are mainly the Akan traditional dances,’’ he explained.

Mr Amidu said the government sidelined all the representatives of the Anglo state in the funeral committee.

“Did you see any Anglo chief around?” Alhaji quizzed.

“The mere mention that UDS will be named after Rawlings in the president’s tribute throws more light on the hypocrisy of Nana Addo. He was a cabinet minister when the first proposal of naming UDS after Rawlings was brought to the table.

"The NPP kicked against it and you want to name it after him on what grounds? Nana Addo is just meddlesome,” the communication officer emphasized.

The communication officer added that Nana Addo did all those things to claim some kind of credit for himself.
