Akufo-Addo Extends Church, Mosque Services to 2 hours

Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo has further eased COVID-19 induced restrictions on religious worships in Ghana.

According to the President, churches and mosques can now worship for about two hours.

The new directive takes effect from Saturday, August 1, 2020.

Akufo-Addo in a nationwide televised address on COVID-19 management tooday [July 26, 2020] mentioned that, the 100 people per worship session order has been lifted and that churches and mosques can now admit as many members as they can.

According to the President, this decision was based on the high level of compliance with the safety protocols by the religious bodies.

However, he urged them to continue adhering to the safety protocols, especially mask-wearingg and social distancing.
