The Omanhene of Aburi who doubles as the Adontenhene of Akuapem Traditional Area, Otobour Nana Djan Kwasi II has disclosed to the media that from Wednesday, 3rd August 2022 to 14th September 2022, the Akuapem Traditional Area will ban drumming and noise making (Adaebutuw) for a month and half to appease the gods and ancestors amidst this year's Odwira Festival.
He added that, since the Okuapehene and Okuapehemaa has unsettled issues at the National House of Chiefs, there won't be DURBAR during Odwira and Okuapehene won't be carried in a palanquin as well.
Otobour disclosed that, all the sub chiefs in the Traditional Area i.e Adonten, Benkum, Nifa, Gyaase, Konti etc will also not hold durbar during the Odwira Festivities.
"The Traditional Authority has decided that, right after "Adaebutuw," two weeks period will be given for people to hold funerals for loved ones," after that grace period, anyone who defaults this directive will face the wrath of the Traditional Authority," he added.
