Akuapem Poloo's lawyer angry over her 90 day Jail term

The lawyer for Akuapem Poloo describes her sentence as harsh after she was imprisoned for posting herself and her son's nude pictures on the internet.

Andrew Vortia,  lawyer for the convicted actress Rosemond Brown well known as Akuapem Poloo has reacted after Poloo was sentenced to 90 days jail term. He describes the sentence as too harsh.

After court hearing, Lawyer Andrew Vortia revealed to Starr News that, the punishment given  to Akuapem Poloo was very harsh after her appeal was terminated by the Accra High Court.

He said that it was written in both defendant and the prosecution’s address that the penalty was harsh but yet still the court went ahead with its sentence.

He continues that the victim's son will have to suffer emotional trauma due to the fact that he has been separated from his mother. He stated that the court’s decision will "kill" the boy emotionally and psychologically.

Lawyer Andrews Vortia however stated that he has no intention to reappeal but will allow the Court's decision to take its course.

 Recall that, Akuapem Poloo was released from the Nsawam Female prison three days after she was granted bail by the High Court in Accra for publishing nude pictures of her 7-year son and herself.

Akuapem Poloo was granted bail conditions as set out by the criminal division of the High Court.

She was bailed at the sum of GHC80, 000 with two sureties. In addition to the bail, she is to report to the case investigator every two weeks and is to deposit her passport with the registrar of the court.
