Nigeria goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi is eager to get his career back on track again after leaving South Africa Premier League club, Kaizer Chiefs.

Akpeyi was laid off by the Amakhosi last month following the expiration of his contract.

The goalie, who will turn 36 next week, failed to make an official appearance for the Glamour Boys since December 2021.

He made 69 appearances for the club following his arrival from another South African outfit, Chippa United in 2019.

The former Warri Wolves shot stopper has been linked with the likes of Orlando Pirates, Sekhukhune United and AmaZulu since leaving Kaizer Chiefs.

"For now, I’m just preparing myself by going through my own pre-season, while waiting for the right time to sign,” he told KickOff.

“In preparing myself, I’m keeping fit by training with one of the top goalkeeper trainers.

“It is a matter of accepting the right offer from what I have available from both South Africa and outside."

The Super Eagles shotstopper has been out of a job since July, but he maintains that it would soon be a thing of the past
