On the back of Akosua Agyapong directing serious allegations at the executives of the Ghana Music Rights Organization, a member of the board has simply narrowed down Akosua problem to menopause.

Menopause is a natural decline in reproductive hormones when a woman reaches her 40s or 50s, this in generally signifies the end of a woman's menstrual cycles. It is a natural biological process that occurs with age.

The changes it cause can make the affected woman to experience anxiety and depression, often resulting in the woman transferring her aggression on other things that she can not control.

The former president of Musicians Union of Ghana, MUSIGA, board member of the Vodafone Ghana Music awards (VGMA) and the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO), Diana Hopeson, has suggested that Akosua Agyapongs incessant rants against the royalties collection agency is basically down to menopause hitting her.

She also believes that apart from the menopause troubling her, the veteran singer, Akosua, is also the way she is due to her ignorance.

Akosua believes that the agency misuses musicians money and Diana has quickly stamped the accusation out, saying that royalties are kept five years before musicians claim them after registering to become a member.

She further added that that no one has misused any musician’s money therefore she doesn’t know why Akosua Agyapong is behaving in such manner.

"Her issues with the scheme, sometimes it pains me. The last time I was saying on air that honestly I think it’s menopause,” said Diana Hopeson who seemed shot of words afterwards but continued: “I can’t think far.”

“I respect her, I just love the way she dances, she’s good. If you go to a radio interview and they are interviewing you about your work and you don’t know much about an institution, don’t say what you don’t know.”

“It doesn’t make sense,” she said. “If you’re a musician, a member of the organization and you know there is an AGM, all these are handled over there, and you now go to a radio station by yourself… and indicting people’s character and all…”

“As a woman, she is supposed to be my friend and I love her. And then you’re doing this to an industry that we’re all struggling to build. What are you doing?” she asked.
