Ahafo Regional Minister Commends Health workers in Ahafo

The Ahafo Regional Minister, Honourable George Boakye has commended the Regional Health Director, District Health Directors, staff of the Ghana Health Service and other key stakeholders in health delivery for the great service to the people of the Ahafo Region.

He underscored the unique ways with which the staff of the Ghana Health Service adopted in handling the COVID-19 pandemic that relatively reduced its catastrophic effects in the Ahafo Region.

Honourable George Boakye attended the 2021 Mid Year Performance Review Meeting of the Ahafo Regional Health Directorate at the Catholic Pastoral Center, Goaso and in his keynote address advised that since the pandemic is still active, all must ensure that the safety protocols are always upheld in order to be on the safer side.

He also made it known that he has already taken his two-dose vaccine and urged that all must avail themselves to take the vaccine. 

Honourable George Boakye who is also a former Member of Parliament for the Asunafo South Constituency stressed the need to strengthen the capacity of the sub-district level facilities in order to improve service delivery in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He emphasized that, despite the numerous successes attained by the Ahafo Regional Directorate under the leadership of Dr Boateng Boakye in the first half of the year, they should continue to work harder to achieve greater success. 

Honourable George Boakye reminded the various Municipal and District Assemblies to prioritize support for health delivery structures in the Municipal and Districts to ensure smooth implementation of health policies for the benefits of Ahafo people.

The Minister lauded the great leadership of President Nana Akufo-Addo thus far for the numerous success attained for the health sector under his tenure. 

He showered praise on the President's vision of the Agenda 111 hospital projects recently commissioned, which three of these projects will be constructed in the Ahafo Region at Regional Hospital at Goaso, Asutifi North District Hospital, Asunafo South District Hospital.

He expressed gratitude to Nananom for making lands available for such great projects. 

Honourable George Boakye assured that his office will continue to work hand in hand with the Regional Health Director and his subordinates in the Districts to deal with the challenges that face them in their course of duties.

The Ahafo Regional Minister also inaugurated a nine-member committee for the Regional Health Directorate and charged them to discharge their mandate in a way that will always benefit the people of Ahafo.
