Ahafo Regional Minister and Asunafo South DCE cut sod for Agenda 111 Hospital Project. 

The Ahafo Regional Minister Honourable George Boakye in his speech stated that the President is bent on delivering this project to the people of the District. So, the project by His Grace will be completed in 18 months and said a "projects of this nature needs money and the president has done that to make sure his promise to complete the hospital is achieved".

Ahafo Regional Minister and Asunafo South DCE cut sod for Agenda 111 Hospital Project. 

The Ahafo Regional Minister Honourable George Boakye together with Asunafo South District Chief Executive Honourable Adu-Poku Frank has cut-sod for work to begin on a hospital project for the Asunafo South District, under the government’s Agenda 111 initiative.

The ceremony was met with praise as residents thronged the project site at Kukuom, the District Capital to witness the ceremony for the project start. 

At the ceremony were residents of the town, heads of directorates and departments, and Nananom of Kukuom Traditional Council gathered at the project site in their numbers to witness the District Chief Executive, Hon. Aduse Poku Frank together with the Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. Sompahene George Boakye and Osahene Kweku Aterkyi II, the Paramount Chief of Kukuom break the ground for the contractors who are already busy working on the project to start officially.

In April 2020, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo promised Ghanaians of the Agenda 111 hospital project initiative. 

The initiative, aimed at constructing hospitals in some districts across the country, was to resource the country’s health sector in the face of the deadly coronavirus disease COVID-19 pandemic.

The initiative by the government covers the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of 101 District hospitals and six Regional hospitals for the newly created regions among others.

Speaking at the ceremony, Osahene Kweku Aterkyi II, was very much appreciative of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government for adding their District to the project and blessed the President His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for gifting the people of Kukuom a modernized hospital.

The District Chief Executive for the area, Honourable Aduse Poku Frank on his part assured that he will work concurrently with the contractors and all other stakeholders to see to it that the project is complete within the schedule.

He noted that the project on completion would give residents access to improved health care services in line with president Akufo-Addo’s vision for Ghana’s health sector.

The Regional Minister at the close of his speech donated medical items worth over Ghc10,000 to the District Health Director to support the work of the Directorate.

Mrs Theresah Krah, the District Health Director also commended the government for this initiative and was hopeful that, the completion of the District hospital will help reduce the pressure on the few health facilities serving the people in the District.
