AFCON; Dede Ayew Misses Training Secession In A Crucial Match

Ghana Black Stars Captain, Andre Dede Ayew has reportedly missed the Wednesday morning training session of black star ahead of the second group stage match of the 2021 AFCON

He is said to have missed the intense training session due to a head injury he suffered during the opening match against Morocco. Ayew was not part of the entire team for the training ahead of Gabon’s game.

Before Ghana’s match against Morocco, Dede Ayew revealed that he hasn’t been feeling well since they landed in Cameroon for the 2022 African Cup of Nations.

In an interview with the press following the first game with Morocco which they lost by a goal in Yaounde, he emphasized that he decided to play because his colleagues supported him.

In his words, “I have not been feeling well for the past two days, I wanted to play, my colleagues wanted me on the pitch and I did everything because I have been waiting for this for three years now, we lost and I was unlucky to add a cut on my eye to it”

However, the medical team insists that he is fine. Reports indicate that it is a precautionary action that will make him ready for all the matches.

The technical team had to rest him for another day to get him fully fit. Dede Ayew was not well a couple of days ahead of the competition. Coach Milovan says he will be able to help the team on Friday.
