Educating the girls in the school took the students through their hygiene whenever they menstruated.

Adansi South District Holds Menstrual Hygiene Education for Students in the District. 

The Adansi South District Education and Health Directorate together with the teachers of Adansi Apagya Roman Catholic (R/C) Junior High School (JHS) in the Ashanti Region has organized a menstrual hygiene education program for the students of Adansi Apagya R/C J.H.S.

The program which was organized to educate the girls in the school took the students through their hygiene whenever they menstruated.

The female teachers in the school because today marks the world menstrual hygiene day shared with the students their menstrual experiences during the program to get the girls informed about their menstrual period.

Soireenews correspondent Opamago Paparichy speaking to the District Coordinator for Child Health Education in the Adansi South District, Ms. Hectoria Afrifa, stressed the need for the female students to be acquainted themselves with the use of sanitary pads whenever they are in their menstrual period.

The District Guidance and Counseling Coordinator, Mr. Domenic Adu also advised the students to exempt themselves from immoral behavior and all forms of bad attitudes that will ruin their future but should concentrate on their education for a better future.

Each of the female students was able to receive a pack of the sanitary pad for use and were advised to practice the use of the sanitary pad whenever they menstruate to keep them hygienic. 

On the behalf of the students, Madam Vida Ntriakwah, a teacher at R/C J.H.S thanked the District Education and Health Directorate for their education and the free distribution of sanitary pads to the girls in the school and said, the teachers will do their best to educate the females regularly how to use the sanitary pads.
