Adansi North DCE  Accused Of Creating  Division In Fomena NPP!

Aggrieved members and supporters of the NPP in the arm bands sent a strong signal to the leadership of the NPP in the national level that if they have not put in place contingent measures to call to order the DCE and the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, the party would likely to loss its parliamentary seat to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 general elections.

Adansi North DCE  Accused Of Creating  Division In Fomena NPP!
SUPPORTERS and members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Fomena Constituency of the Ashanti Region have accused the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Adansi North District, Mr. Eric Kwaku Kusi for fomenting trouble and division in the NPP of the area.
Addressing a press conference in Fomena, aggrieved members and supporters of the NPP in the arm bands sent a strong signal to the leadership of the NPP in the national level that if they have not put in place contingent measures to call to order the DCE and the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, the party would likely to loss its parliamentary seat to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 general elections.
Articulating on the happenings in the Fomena NPP,  they recalled that somewhere early this year there was a press release about the party’s internal elections, which excluded the Fomena constituency.
According to them, a meeting was held between the former General Secretary, Mr. John Boadu, the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Wontumi, Chairman of the Regional Disciplinary Committee, Nana Nkansah Boadu, Hon Joe Osei Wusu, Hon Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu and some Fomena constituency executives with the view of resolving the issues at Fomena.
'Before the scheduled date for the party re-organization and elections, we sensed an unfair development between the independent Member of Parliament and some leaders of our party. We therefore sent series of petitions to the regional and national party but received no response," they noted.
According to them, some disgruntled party members organized press conference, others also took to the streets for a peaceful demonstration to register their concerns to the Regional and National of the NPP.
They pointed out these  organizers were given a nail in the coffin treatment until some well-meaning party members invited the constituency executives along with the disgruntled party members for a series of meetings which seemed to bring lasting resolution on the matter, but all indications suggest that our meetings did not yield any tangible benefits as decisions taken were not adhered to.
They indicated that the members of the party at the Fomena constituency then decided to boycott any election arrangement until proper reconciliation and mediation have been done.
Subsequently, there have been rumors of purported internal elections in Fomena without the knowledge of the constituency executives.
According to them, this unfortunate incident has infuriated some party members to seek for redress in court
They indicated that "Whilst court proceedings are still ongoing, we however wish to bring to the attention of the current National Executives and to remind the Legal Affairs Directorate of the party that it is on record that there has not been any election in Fomena and it is affirmed by the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Committee of the party by a letter dated 27th May 2022 (attached) and the Director of the Legal Affairs Directorate of the Party, Gary Nimako Marfo during an interview with 3news."
They said the National and Regional executives of the NPP are fully aware of the fact that that there are no Constituency Executives in Fomena so it is surprising that the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Adandi North Hon. Eric Kwaku Kusi is going round introducing some people believed to be the constituency executives of the Fomena constituency when even polling station elections have not been held.
They stressed that the actions of the DCE is an affront to the decision of the ADR Committee of the party and we expect the National party to call the Honorable DCE to order as a matter of urgency.
"We also want to remind the National party about a similar incident that led Mr. Andrews Amoako Asiamah to boycott the NPP parliamentary primaries in 2020 to contest the general election as independent candidate.
It is incumbent on the National party to therefore ensure that such an incident does not repeat itself.
The called on NEC of the NPP  to declare any purported polling station, zonal or constituency elections in Fomena null and void;Constitute a committee for the purpose of reconciliation and mediation as directed by the ADR Committee of the Party; initiate the process of admitting the party members who lost their membership of the party for following an independent candidate as against the officially sponsored party candidate as dictated by the NPP Constitution; and use the laid down structures and procedures for organizing polling station, zonal and constituency elections in Fomena constituency.
"We are hereby praying to the National party to heed to our call in order to foster a peaceful atmosphere in the Fomena constituency as we bid to break the eight in the forthcoming 2024 general elections, they noted.
