The accused persons standing trial at the Tema District Circuit Court presided over by Benedicta Antwi have been denied bail.

The Tema District court turned down the prayer for bail by the counsel for A3 Ibrahim Abdul Rakib, A4 Safianu Mustafa A.K.A Dayoki, A5. Yussif Mohammed A6. Abdul Gafaru is standing trial for conspiracy to commit murder.

The Tema court presiding over by Her Honour Benedicta Antwi intimated that due to the severity of the offence coupled with the fact investigations are still ongoing such that bail for the accused persons will hamper the process, it will not be prudent to grant them bail. At the Ashaiman Circuit Court, the same counsel for the accused persons, Abdul Fataw Alhassan accused the court for the court of merely holding them just to punish them. The four accused persons are standing trial for dishonestly receiving. When the case was called, Superintendent Sylvester Asare told the court that duplicate dockets are ready and had been forwarded to the office of the Attorney General for study and subsequent advice. Under the circumstances, he prayed to the court to remand the accused persons in police custody. The Magistrate, Benedicta Antwi granted the prayer and remanded the accused persons to reappear on April 11, 2023
