About 50 fire fighters trained fire fighting measures in Northern Region

 The command of the Northern Region Ghana National Fire Service has deployed means to build the capacity of its personnel to aid in the combat of fire outbreaks in the region and how to fight fires.

V/O: Speaking to the media after a three-day training, The Northern regional fire Officer, Assistant Chief Officer Grade One, James Ankrah mentioned that fifty (50) of his personnel were drawn at the district level in the Region for the training.

He expressed hope that the selected officers will impact their colleagues in the districts with the knowledge learned at the training exercise.

“We need to be training and training aside from the usual education so that when the undesired happens our edges are sharpened already and we can stand the test of time”.

According to him, the personnel was taken through several training including how to rescue victims on high-rise buildings when there's a fire outbreak, and how they can as officers also protect themselves.

He further charged the trainees not to go back to their respective districts to relax, but they should replicate the same to the rest of the officers who couldn't get the opportunity.

He said though the government provides everything to the Ghana national service, the public can still assist the service with any item.

The Region public relations officer of the service, Assistant Divisional Officer grade II,

Baba Hudu said the fire recorded in the region is alarming, hence the officer's empowerment.

According to him, with constant training and education fires would be minimized in the region.
