A native of Cameroon, who is a business tycoon, has been enstooled as Nkosuohene of Akuapem Abotakyi in the Akuapem North Municipality of the Eastern Region of Ghana.

The coronation and Enstoolment of Simb Emile Parfeit, at the Traditional capital of Okuapeman Traditional council, Akropong was marked amidst drumming and dancing in a jubilant state.

The colourful ceremony was graced by Nobel men such as Mr Ofori Sarpong, a brother of Kwame Despite, who happens to be a friend of Simb Emile Parfeit, the newly enstooled Nkosuohene of Akuapem Abotakyi, also, at the coronation were Nana Osim Kwatia II, the Gyeasehene of Akuapem Traditional area, and Nana Awuku Sakyi, the Ampuhene of Akuapem Traditional Area.

In an interview with Nana Kwame Sakyi Ababio II, the chief of Abotakyi, also as the Asesewhene of Okuapeman, as well as a Divisional Chief with the title Nana Awuku Sakyi Amputuhene of Akuapem Traditional Area said, the Nkosuohene, as the name that signifies development, and with his coronation will help bring development to Abotakyi.

He then urged all residents and royals to rally behind him to fight for a common agenda, which is development.

Nana Osim Kwatia II, Gyeasehene of Akuapem Traditional Area, detailed the succession plan of the chief of Abotakyi, and lamented, that the Abotakyi chieftaincy is Patrilineal, not Matrilineal and therefore the queen mother does not have the gust to challenge the legitimacy of appointing the Nkosuohene.

"Adding that, in a Patrilineal or agnatic, succession gives priority to or inheritance of a throne or fief to heirs, male descended from the original titleholder through males only. And therefore Nana Akosua Sakyibea I have no locust to challenge his decision".

Asesawhene opined, that Nana Akosua Sakyibea I, is not a member of the Akuapeman Traditional Council, because her queen mother title is ceremonial.

He reiterated, that if the queen mother wishes to be a kingmaker, she can follow her mothers' tradition to be installed, in order to have the powers as a kingmaker but unfortunately for her, Akuapem Abotakyi is patrilineal, so she must shut up and if she thinks the "kitchen is too hot for her, she should bow out."

The Kingmaker stressed, that her actions are inimical to the interests of Abotakyi,' and it is detrimental to the progress of the town and must be disregarded.

Launching deep into why he enstooled Simb Emile Parfait as Nkosouhene, Asesawhene of Okuapeman Traditional Area revealed, that Simb Emile is a friend of Ofori Sarpong, the brother of Kwame Despite and a business tycoon, so it is very wealthy to pick such people for a ceremonial seat, in order to draw development close to the doorstep of his community, and promised, the benefit after this installation will be enormous, adding that, very soon, everyone will testify to the reason behind the enstoolment of Simb Emile Parfeit as Nkosuohene of Abotakyi.

Ironically, when he was asked about a certain perpetual injunction to restrain him from the coronation of the Nkosuohene, Asesawhene of Okuapeman Traditional Council laughed, and in a comic relief stated that if there was such injunction, the police who were deployed to ensure Covid 19 protocols were observed properly may also be arrested for contempt, and fumed that, the Okuapeman Traditional Council has not received any injunction or whatsoever.

Abotakyihene emphasized, that the said document was orchestrated by the lawyer of Obaapanin Sakyibea I, and moreover, it was without a date and must be treated with all the inimical it deserves.
