Abandoned Damanko Community Day School  Project Turned Into  Cattle Ranch

The cattle, frogs, other reptiles, snakes have taken over the abandoned E-Block school project at Damanko.

The abandoned Community Day School Project at Damanko in the Nkwanta North of the Oti Region under the state's flagship education E-Blocks Infrastructural Development Project which was started by the former President John Dramani Mahama administration has completely turned into a cattle ranch.

The video intercepted by soireenews.com generally showed how the owners of the cattle have turned the premises of the abandoned project as their cattle ranch without recourse to the huge money which was spent on the project by the central government.

Although the government, through the Minister of Education, Dr. Osei Adutwum has refuted the assertion of the critics that President Nana Addo Dankwa has not abandoned E- blocks, what was seen in the video exposed the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
Addressing the cross-section of journalists in Accra on Sunday, January 30, 2022, Dr. Osei Adutwum noted that,124 E- blocks have been started and out of the 124, 23 of them have been completed through Secondary education improvement projects sourcing the fund from the world bank, looking forward to completing the others when funds are available.
He indicated that four E-blocks are going to be operationalized.
This according to him, was because every year the ministry opens E- block, two-story building blocks had been added to the existing E- block at Dome- Kwabenya, Drobonso community senior high school is expected to be completed.
.
But the video indicated that some of the E- block projects were under the mercy of the weather dotted around every part of the country like dormitories, administration, classroom blocks, science laboratories, etc.
The Soireenews com gathered that apart of the Damanko E- block project being turned into a cattle ranch, residents have noted with sadness, the way and manner the Damanko E- block project has been abandoned and left at the mercy of the sun, reptiles, and weeds.
This laudable school project that was started by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) led Mahama administration got stalled after the NPP won the 2016 general elections.
Irrespective of the change of power and looking at the time the students are still facing numerous challenges of classrooms to learn, residents thought the NPP was going to continue from where the NDC got and to complete this project.
Those who do not believe in the possibility of arresting and prosecuting any government official should listen to the Malawian president Lazarus Chakwera when he addressed his country on Covid-19 funds that were partly embezzled.
The Damanko residents believe abandoning the Damanko E-Block project to rot because someone somewhere embezzled part of the funds is not an option.
They lamented millions of the students do not have a place to call classrooms and it will be inconceivable if any government acts this way.
"We are appealing to the government under the stewardship of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo that works must start on this project as soon as possible.
"We won't allow these luxurious school projects to be run down as it has been done to so many previous government projects because of change of government. Ghanaians are now sick and tired of this trend.
