A 23-year-old young man has been reportedly stabbed to death at Adum Afrancho in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region.

According to the Ghana Police Service statement released today, six persons have been arrested in the Ashanti region following the land and chieftaincy dispute that led to the death of one person at Adum Afrancho.

During the altercation, a deceased known as Kwame Yeboah 23, was allegedly stabbed to death by Kwadjo Brefo, who is among the suspects arrested.

Two persons including suspect Kwadjo Brefo sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at the hospital under police guard.

The Brother of the deceased, Nana Antwi Bosiako, who spoke with our Soireenews Correspondent confirmed the incident and added that the dispute has been persisting for a long period until now that his brother has been killed.

He, therefore, pleaded with the security personnel and the Asantehene for a thorough investigation and resolution.

An eyewitness, Madam Adwoa Ataa, also added that during the struggle between the suspect and the deceased, there was a policeman at the scene but failed to bother to make peace prevail.

Ashanti Regional Police Commander lead operations to restore calm in the area. 

The community had been entreated to be law-abiding and exercise restraint as investigations continue to ensure that all other persons involved are arrested and brought to justice.
