53 year primary school leaver adjudged 2022 municipal best farmer in Wenchi

Mr Osei Kwasi a 53 year old primary school leaver from Ahwene in the Buoku Electoral Area has been adjudged the 2022 municipal best farmer in the Wenchi Municipality of the Bono Region.

He took home one Nasco deefreezer, one pair of wellington boots, two cutlasses, two bottles of weedicides, one radio set,TP-16L sprayer, one Puckett of roofing sheets, one box of Eduane pa organic fertilizer and a certificate.

Mr Osei Kwasi is married and bless with 7 children and has fifteen acres of 23 acres of Cocoa, 15 acres of oil palm plantation, 28 acres of maize 10 acres of plantain, 65 acres of cashew, 5 acres of cassava, 15 acres of mango 15 acres of maize 5 acres of coconut, 3 acres of pepper 5 acres of yam, 5 acres of cocoyam,3 acres of citrus plantation two acres of rice.

     Livestock

He has 47 sheeps, 15 cattle, 70 fowls, 28 Guinea fowls.

9 beehives including 9 Grassutter

Mr Osei Kwasi also has 150 teak plantation.

Hon Alexander Obour Damoah, the Wenchi Municipal Chief Executive seized the opportunity to congratulate the 2022 Municipal Chief farmer and all the award winners for their hard work which has brought them this far.

He urged the award winners to avoid complacency and work very hard to achieve greater awards at the Regional and National levels.

Honorable Alexander Obour Damoah also challenged all other farmers who could not win any award at the ceremony not to lose hope but to continue to work harder to attract the needed recognition in the future events.

The Acting Chief Executive Officer of PBC Limited, Mr Alfred Ofori Annye and the Member of Parliament for Wenchi Hon Alhaji Seidu Haruna support the just ended National Farmers Day with GH¢ 5,550.00 and GH¢ 4000.00 respectively.

The event took place at Nwoase a traditional herbs and farming community in the Wenchi Municipality of the Bono Region.
