500 away fans will be allowed to attend the final two rounds of Premier League matches as part of the scheduled 10,000 overall supporters.

The decision is part of the government's plan to relax the ban on away fans travelling to match venues due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Times reported that the Premier League’s chief executive, Richard Masters has written to the 20 clubs saying informing them of the United Kingdom government's plans to bring back spectators to match venues.

TalkSPORTS reports that clubs had already been working towards having stadiums up to 25 per cent full — though a maximum of 10,000 fans — for the final two match rounds of the season.

And now PL chiefs are proposing that five per cent of that capacity should be away supporters, up to 500 in number.

Masters has asked all clubs to respond with their views on the proposed policy.

It is also claimed clubs would have to abide by the £30 cap on away tickets.
