342,000 Living  With AIDS-CHAG

The Senior Programmes Manager of the Christian Health Association Of Ghana (CHAG), Mr. Benjamin Cheabu has disclosed that the current rate of AIDS patients living in the country is estimated to be around three hundred and forty-two thousand (342,000).

The Senior Programmes Manager of the Christian Health Association Of Ghana (CHAG), Mr. Benjamin Cheabu has disclosed that the current rate of AIDS patients living in the country is estimated to be around three hundred and forty-two thousand (342,000).
He said out of the three hundred and forty-two thousand patients living with AIDS in the country, 60 percent are women and 40 percent are men.
In an interview with the media at a health workshop in Accra, he said, even thou the AIDS virus is currently low in the country it keeps rising among adolescents between the ages of 15 to 24 years old and urged us to pay more attention to the young people between the adolescent age category.
He added that most pregnant women are also part of the people living with AIDS and their main goal as an organization is to target pregnant women, adolescents, and young people both male and female who are exposed to AIDS.
